1/8 Open Late Model Rules:

If you run this class we will have people who will help you!
The open class is not for the experienced guys!

This is run what  ya brung because that's all you got! The
manufactures produce a RTR car that is very cheap and great to get
new people in to R/C cars, that is good. That works for the back yard
basher and beginning off road racers it's a different story for a closed
course tight fast oval class. In the past if you showed up at the track
with a RTR you would have to run in the open class with the fast guys.
The newbie does not stand a chance. Our version of this class is a
place for you to try out oval racing(cheap) and see if you can do it, if
so you will get what you need over time to run in the more structured
Late Model Spec classes, when you're ready.

Motor:
Any 1/8-scale style Motor.

Bodies:
Molded one piece bodies only. Must be approved.
Side dams 5" tall from top of deck, 4" back from the left front center hub and can't go
past rear of body. Molded bodies only. A 3" max rear spoiler. You may have one fin on
the spoiler and a right side cap.  The second fin must also be the same dimension as
side cap. It can be located anywhere on the spoiler between the two side caps. The
side caps must be a triangle shape
.(See template) The fin must be in line with the side
caps on the front leading edge.

Tires:
All wheels must be 17mm buggy based.

Click here 09 bf spec sheet
This is the spec sheet for the new BF motor
for 2009. The front bearing has changed to a
double sealed bearing. The back plate has
changed. The carb is still the same they are
just putting the part # on the spec sheet now.
The changed parts # are in bold on the spec
sheet. I was told by Jim Hottinger that the new
motor would perform the same. The changes
were for durability only.
